A FANTASY COME TO LIFE – LITERALLY

Emma Gavin writes bestselling novels about werewolves, but that doesn’t mean she believes in them–and she certainly doesn’t think she’ll meet one.  But that’s exactly what happens when her books catch the attention of a rich and powerful pack of Manhattan Weres, who have kept their existence hidden for centuries.  Alarmed by the accuracy of her novels, they’re determined to find out if a renegade is acting as her informant.

Aidan Wallace, the pack leader’s son and heir, knows he’s the wolf for the job, but when he gets close to Emma, they are both surprised by an attraction too strong to deny.  To surrender to it, Aiden will have to risk everything–including the security of the pack he’s sworn to protect….

My Thoughts:

I think I have a thing for Were’s because those furry shape-shifters always seem to grab my heart.  Aidan Wallace is responsible for monitoring Emma Gavin, a werewolf novelist, to be sure she’s not getting inside information about the were community from an actual werewolf.  But when a rogue were reaches out to Emma and offers to show her what a real werewolf can do, Aiden becomes her personal bodyguard to try and prevent exposure.

This was a light and cute read.  Emma was a cutie with a sharp mind and beautiful imagination.  I was happy to see a character who is a writer, and found it amazing that the weres she wrote about so closely resembled the actual were community in the book.  I love her internal dialogue and never ending curiosity, and her very caring nature.

Aidan was nothing less than sexy but in a very smooth and cool way.  He had a very easy nature about him, except when it came to Emma’s safety.  I have to say I was really drawn to the beast within and quite enjoyed his wolfie scenes.  Though Aiden was very much an alpha, he seemed very low-key with it which made me believe in his confidence.  And he made the intimate scenes quite steamy.

The only issue I really had with the book was how problems got tied up.  The rogue werewolf basically gets away with no consequences, and the fight to keep Emma in his life is just a little too easy.  Although I’m glad Aidan and Emma got their HEA, I wish that it was a little harder for them to obtain.

Overall, very enjoyable book with an interesting story.  The writing is good and the werewolves are hot.  A great pick if you’re in the mood for a light paranormal romance.

Sounds good. I am really enjoying paranormals more and more, especially when they aren’t just vampires. Weres are a good addition. I don’t care for the cover. But overall it appears to be an ok book. Great review.
