Topic: Favorite Summer Read

This is another hard topic.  If I to pick from books I’ve read that remind me of summer and brings back great summer memories for me, then I’ll have to go with Flyy Girl by Omar Tyree.

Now if I’m picking from books that I’ve read THIS SUMMER, then my favorites so far have been Graceling by Kristin Cashore and Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry!

I truly enjoyed several of Omar Tyree’s novels, included Flyy Girl. I’ve actually been reading a lot of non-fiction this summer. I enjoyed Jay Z’s book, Decoded. It’s was an unexpected great read.

I used to live for Omar Tyree’s books. I devoured all of them. Eventually I got out of it, but I think I was into it during his best work.

  2. Hey Jade,

I really liked Flyy Girl too, that actually was the first book I read by Omar Tyree. I haven’t read your other picks, but I looked them up and the summaries sound good.

    Check out my picks!

I love sweet lazy summer reads.
The one I’m listening to right now is pretty good. It’s called Three Times Lucky.

  5. I haven’t read Graceling yet! I really need to get to it.

  6. I have heard wonderful things about Graceling but I STILL need to read it! I have not heard of the other two but they all sound interesting! It is hard to choose favourite summer books!!! Thanks for sharing.

I’ve heard some good things about Graceling! I keep watching for it to go on sale for Nook so I can grab a copy. I’m glad you liked it, Jade!

  9. I finally got my hands on a copy of Rot & Ruin! Better late than never, but I probably won’t get to read it until I’m done with school. 🙁

    LOL

  10. I haven’t read any of these book yet. I have Graceling on my shelf so I think I will start with that one.

  11. Well I’m picking up Graceling then for sure.

Sorry I’m so slow getting around. I’m currently adjusting to my new schedule and things are sooo crazy now that I’m working full time. I’ll get it together though (slowly but surely).
