Bookish Family:
I have two book families that I absolutely love and adore. The first book family I love is The Claybornes from For the Roses by Julie Garwood. This family was so different and fabulous I really couldn’t get enough of them. Set in the 1800’s, four misfit boys find a baby in a trash can. At first they believe the baby to be a boy but soon find out it’s a girl. The oldest, Adam, is a runaway slave and must head west to get out of danger. But determined to raise the girl as their own and give her a proper family, the four boys head west with the baby and love her like she’s their own sister. They are unique, and fun, and so endearing I couldn’t help but wish I was a part of the family. If you haven’t read this and love historicals, be sure to pick it up. The Claybornes are so awesome.
Another book family I love is The Weaseleys from the Harry Potter series. This whole family grabbed my heart and never let go. Ron is always supportive and amusing. Ginny is brilliant and determined. I like that she doesn’t let her brothers overshadow her. The twins are my fave though. They had me laughing so many times during the books and The Deathly Hallows broke my heart. I also love the parents Molly and Arthur. I admire that they really took Harry in and treated him as if he were one of their own. With him losing so many people he loved, they were the one thing that was consistent and right in his life…and Molly was a pistol! Even Percy served his purpose. I wish we got to know more about the older brothers though. Anyway….totally awesome book fam and I wish I was the second sister. With my face on the clock and wand in hand…my natural hair color is a bit reddish so I think I’d fit right in, LOL.
Who are your favorite book families and why?

I love the Weasley’s! They also seemed to adopt Harry and Hermoine and teach them things their parents couldn’t.
Yes! That’ what I loved about them too!
I have to agree. I love the Weasley’s. I adored the parents and the bond they all shared. Mrs. Weasley was like a surrogate mom to that whole Potter bunch.
She was. Always so sweet and protective towards her kids and Harry and Hermoine.
Yes! I adore the Weasleys! And that fantastic house.
JuJu that house was oddly awesome. They should make it an attraction at Disney or something.
I love Mrs. Weasley so much cause she reminds me of my mom. She took in Harry and treated him like one of her sons just like my mom does with ALL my friends. Regardless if they have a family or not.
Alysia when you put it like that, she reminds me of my Mom too.
AHHH, The Weasleys! They were loads of fun.
I’d probably add The Bennets to my list. How Lizzie was able to put up with her mother and younger sister, I’ll never know.
What book are the Bennets from? I feel like I should know this.
I love the Claybornes! But who doesn’t love a family full of hot, sexy brothers?! One of my favorite bookish families is the Quinns, from Nora Roberts’ Chesapeake Bay series, they are another bunch of hot sexy brothers so the Claybornes are in good company.
If the Quinn’s re anything like the Claybornes I so have to check them out.
Aww, I’ve only read One Pink Rose by her, but I know what you mean about that family. I’m sure I’d grow to love it even more if I read the rest of the books! And wow, I love the Weasleys too! Extremely much. The parts with them and their bickering are so lovable! And how they take in Harry and Hermione too. Love!
Oooh, when you get a chance you should read For The Roses. LOL, the sibling fighting was adorable.
I’m sooo sorry! I accidentally deleted this week’s topic. The mix-up is all my fault 🙁
That said. LOVE both your choices!! I love the Claybornes and I love that you reminded me of that. Great post!
This post is so cute. I need to get to know the Weasleys this winter. I am going to try Harry Potter again. Yep, have not read it yet, but have promised a fellow blogger that I would give it another try this winter.
[…] think everyone picked them. Mocha Girl Jade of Sort of Beautiful picked this same family. But I have to agree 100% with her and honestly all the books I have been […]
