Actually, I still love Boy Meets World. This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I loved that the Wonder Years kid brother had his own show that was funny, entertaining, and seemed to hit on all the kid and teenagery problems one could and would go through. I adored Cory with his curly mop and I also loved Shawn because he was so rough around the edges. I loved that these two characters couldn’t be more different, but managed to stay the best of friends through all the changes and growing up.
And the relationship between Cory and Topanga was something my kid heart could only dream of. They went from adversaries, to friends, to eventually husband and wife. I loved watching their relationship grow, change, and develop over the years. They really were perfect for each other.
Other characters I loved was Cory’s big brother Eric. I cannot even begin to remember all the times this fool made me laugh til I had tears in my eyes. And although he was goofy and silly, he was a great brother to Cory and at times had some very profound moments in the series. I also loved Mr. Feeny. I think every kid should have a teacher like him at least once. He reminds me of my AP English teacher Mr. Jackson who happened to be one of my fave HS teachers. Mr. Feeny had such depth and wisdom, and I loved how he forced his students to figure out their most difficult problems on their own with some gentle guidance.
I remember when they started playing the reruns of Boy Meets World on the Disney Channel when I was in college. It came on from 1:00am – 2:00am, and if I was in my dorm room, I would not go to bed until I watched both episodes. Thankfully I had a roommate and friend who ended up enjoying the show as much as me, so she would watch with me. I can’t really say enough about this show. Sometimes when I’m still up in the morning I can catch it. I really need to get the box sets so I can revisit whenever the mood strikes me.
Oh, and strange fact. That kid that used to play Mincus on the show was from the town I went to school in. I saw him out downtown one time when me and my friends were waiting to get in the club. That was the weirdest thing.
How about you ladies and gents? Anybody else out there who loved Boy Meets World? Why or why not, and if so, what was your favorite part?

LOL, I totally watched Boy Meets World! This post brings back the memories, especially with the current Follow Friday question being about reading habits as a teen, it’s like a big flashback to junior high! Book Savvy Babe
LOL I use to love that show too! I miss Wonder Years.
@ BSB, I didn’t do FF today so I’ll have to go by and check out the topic!
@ JuJu, Yes I loved Wonder Years too. They were both such great shows.
I liked boy meets girl too. I love the cute button you made for your meme/theme. My back in the day would be Silver Spoons and A Different World.
I watched Boy Meets World for Cory and Topanga’s relationship. I also loved that her name was Topanga. I wasn’t a die hard for the show (and I didn’t like the Wonder Years) but I did watch it because I’m a romantic at heart. I didn’t participate in FF either. Trying to get this template to love me.
It’s posts like these that make me feel like I’ve been buried under a rock for my whole life or I’m getting really old. I’ve never even heard of this show. hmph!
Awe! Remember when Topanga proposed to Cory at graduation! My heart stopped!
Loved this show and the characters so much. And the Wonder Years was great too.
