Woohooo!!! I finally got this site fixed the way I want it to be. It took much longer than I expected because I got sick in the middle of working on it. But I’m finally finished and pretty darn happy with the results!
I am still a hard core purple fan, but the purple I had previously was starting to feel a bit harsh to me. So I used some softer tones of purple for the backgrounds and base colors in this new theme.
I was also sick of my header. Don’t get me wrong, I really did LOVE it. But after a few months of blogging I began to notice SEVERAL new book blogs cropping up and using my header image with maybe the skin tone changed, or them holding a computer or coffee instead of a book. Though I contracted the artist to use one of her istock images and change it to my specifications, I guess I never thought so many others would end up using and rearranging the SAME image. But I guess that’s the risk you take when having the artist revamp an image that they have up on istock or some such site.
So this time I hired Zoe from Chic and Sassy Designs to make a new header image. One in the likeness of ME, and one where my lady will still be relaxing and enjoying a book. She used a pic of myself, a real designer chair, and a pic of one of my favorite t-shirts to make my image and I couldn’t be happier. She did an excellent job, and now I’m relieved to have a header that will be original and unique to my site, and my site ALONE!
Anywho, I checked and rechecked the site in Firefox and IE9 and got it working great in both browser, to my knowledge. But I’d greatly appreciate it if you all would tell me if you run into any issues with the new layout so I can get it fixed ASAP…but I’m hoping it’s all good.
Tomorrow I’ll be posting my review of Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James, and I hope to catch up on posts I’ve missed the rest of the week.
Lastly, I again want to thank those of you who reached out to me to check on me when I disappeared. I asked my docs what I could do to at least try to PREVENT getting pneumonia so much. According to my hematologist in Sickle Cell patients the spleen, which regulates the immune system, can deteriorate and completely disappear as the patient gets older. They say it’s very likely mine is gone. They say save for washing my hands all the time, which I already do because of dialysis and whatnot, there is nothing I can do to prevent getting it. But I’ll just pray on that and let the Lord take care of the rest cause I’m tired of stressing about it. Thanks for hanging in there with me through it all though!
I’ll be around this week to catch up on everyone’s posts! Hope you like my new site digs!
