Pirate Nation Mourns one of Our Own

By now you have all heard about the senseless shooting of club Pulse in Orlando Florida.  It saddens me to know that a friend and former classmate of mine was one of the victims of this awful hate crime.  Shane Tomlinson was smart, funny, and talented, and it breaks my heart that one of our own was lost to such violence and hatefulness.  I enjoyed meeting and knowing during my time at ECU, and I hate that you were the victim of someone else’s evilness.  I’m saddened by this news, but I’m also very ANGRY.  This tragedy and others like it could have been avoided.  I want to extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to Shane’s family and friends and to all those affected by the Orlando Massacre.

RIP my fellow Pirate.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. My cousin Joshua/Gia was there and had just left. I’m praying for all the families of the victims. Such a senseless act.

Thanks Lekeisha. I’m happy to hear your cousin left before this tragedy occurred. I will be keeping all those affected in my prayers as well.
