DEATH WAITS IN DARKNESS
Loneliness was nothing new to Angela. Her parents had frequently left her while they went on their globe-circling trips. But now, suddenly, they were dead, and she was left totally and shockingly alone.
The invitation from an uncle she had never met to come and live in an old mansion in the South–a house she would eventually inherit–came as a blessed relief. Angela wondered, of course, why he ignored her arrival, and never came out of the dark, shuttered room from which only weird music and other strange sounds emerged. It didn’t bother her, at first, that all of the other resident warned her away. Until the attempts on her life came closer and closer to succeeding–and she had no one to trust, and no place to run….
The only reason I even bothered to finish and review this book was because when I went looking for reviews of it I couldn’t find any. Maybe this will help someone else. This book was horrible, terrible, a waste of my time.
The writing was awful, the characters one-dimensional, not to mention comical, and the plot was silly and stupid. I don’t know if the author meant to be, but there were some very unsavory and racist themes. The dialogue was so silly and unrealistic, and the author, although trying to be covert in the plot, was actually VERY obvious.
This was probably one of the WORST books I’ve ever read and I really wish I hadn’t wasted my time on it.
