Why I Love Wednesdays is a weekly meme created and hosted by Alexis of Reflections of a Bookaholic. Each week she posts a Why I Love Topic that she answers. If you would like to participate head on over to her site for the topic and the image. This week’s topic:

Tear Jerker :

This will be a typical answer for me but I rarely tear up at a book.  But The Deathly Hallows and Mockingjay (still mad at some of the events in this one) did have me tearing up a bit.  With Deathly Hallows I felt it to the core losing some of the characters we lost.  I especially let a tear fall for Dobby and Fred, I did love them so.  And Mockingjay…gosh Katniss and Peeta were so broken by the end and my heart just went out to them for all they had to endure.  I did tear up a bit for them.

Hey Jade! Omg Deathly Hallows had me on the verge of tears the entire freaking time. Sheesh.

    xo,
    La Toya (La Toya, Literally.)

  2. I wholeheartedly agree with you on this one. I don’t tear up much in books, but those books were emotional.

I am a complete sap and cry at almost everything! But the one that really got me was Viola in the Spotlight and The Hunger Games (when Rue died.) Those two books made me get a tissue or two. Great post!

  4. Man I gotta read Mockingjay.
I keep avoiding it but I so need to bite the bullet and just do it.
    BTW, I love tearjerkers.
And I tend to tear up allot in books.

LOL, I can see that. And yes, go ahead and read Mockingjay and get it over with. I’ll be honest and say I didn’t love it as much as the first two books though.

  5. Finnick!!! Why?????? Yes, that whole series brought out a lot of emotions in me.

  6. I haven’t read Harry Potter yet but MOCKINGJAY!!! Oh my gosh, I know that real wars have tons of casualties and not a picture-perfect ending, but that book made me want to tear up too! And what the Capitol did to Peeta… and then all those people who died that shall remain unnamed… I loved that book so much but I kind of wanted to hate it too LOL — although it was impossible to since they were so great. x)

Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday, Jade! <3

  7. I still need to read Mockingjay, but wow, Deathly Hallows? Yeah, that one is definitely a tear jerker! I don’t know how much I cried! Lol, one time I had to stop because I couldn’t even see the pages. A fantastic book<3

  8. I agree! Dobby and Fred *teardrop*. And the ending to Mockingjay was great — sad and hopeful at the same time. I also got a little misty during that scene with Prim (I’m sure you know which one I’m talking about). A Monster Calls also had me teary-eyed.
