Misunderstood Character:
My most favorite misunderstood character has to be Professor Severus Snape. Snape’s character was just brilliant, and a pivotal part of the Harry Potter world, whether we liked him or not. Snape was just everything. Even though I hated the way he treated Harry and his friends, his character and presence was necessary and really added some nasty flair to the stories.
And who would have guessed that he had such a tragic and heartwrenching past? Who would have guessed this man spent his last days trying to make up for the mistake of helping to assist in the murder of the only woman he ever loved? Seriously, though he was a villain, I loved Snape for his role in this series. Even before I found out everything, I just thought his character was masterfully created and he was one of the most well fleshed out villains ever written. So three cheers for Professor Snape, who is my most favorite misunderstood bad guy!

Oh he made me cry and cry. How every time he saw Harry’s eyes he saw his love.
I do love characters who surprise me.

@ JuJu….yes, it was all in Harry’s eyes. Does make you sympathetic towards the man.
@ Nikki, thanks! I thought he was great too.
@ Missie, YES! I never would have guessed that’s where it would have went. I always felt there was something else driving Snape’s snarkiness and character, but I never would have guessed what it turned out to be.
I always thought there was more to him than met the eye.
Oh he broke my heart. It was more intense in the book than in the movie (in my opinion). I also read this book when I was supposed to be paying attention during Teacher training. So crying randomly was not a good idea. Love this post! Love love love Snape!

@ Elaine, glad to know I wasn’t the only one. We’re seeing eye to eye.
@ Alexis, laughing at you crying through your training at Snape. And you are right. It was way more intense in the book. Rowling did a great job bringing across his story in the end.
nope, I ‘m not coming out to play. Me don’t read Potter books. lol.
