Why I Love Wednesdays: Book Challenges

Reflections of a Bookaholic

Why I Love Wednesdays is a weekly meme created and hosted by Alexis of Reflections of a Bookaholic. Each week she posts a Why I Love Topic that she answers. If you would like to participate head on over to her site for the topic and the image. This week’s topic:

Book Challenges:

I’m not altogether clear on this topic so I’m just going to share what book challenges I’m most excited for this year.  The other challenges I’m participating in can be viewed in my sidebar.

I have so many free downloaded ebooks it will be good to get them read.  I’m off to a bad start though because I haven’t completed any in January yet.

I’m always anxious to re-read Harry Potter.  I haven’t started this challenge yet, but will probably start again in March.

I challenged myself to read 75 books last year and exceeded that goal.  So I decided to try and go for 100 this year.  So far I’m a book ahead of schedule.  Let’s hope I can keep up that pace.

What are challenges are you most excited about?

Hi Jade, I did not enter any challenges last year so I think I kinda WENT THERE this year. I love a variety of reading challenges. It fits so well with my character. I’m a very challenge type of girl too!!

I have a couple more than I did last year, and they are fun. And yes I think you were either supposed to add the linky list or link to it.

  2. Aww no! Lol, I’ve forgotten to sign up for the ones I were joining. Well, wanted to know. *smacks forehead* 2012 is a year of fail for me, I believe.

Good luck with those you’re joining! There’s so many out there looking really fun!

  3. I really want to read 100 books this year, but I set my goal for 80. I’m hoping to read 100…just to scared to commit to the number.

  4. 100 books this year?? Oh my gosh, good luck, Jade!! I just KNOW that you can make your goal, especially if you stick to the awesome pace that you started this year with! 😉 LOL I don’t think I’ve ever done a reading challenge before because my reading habits are very unpredictable and I don’t like to start things I can’t finish… but you kind of inspired me! <3

Good luck with all of those challenges, Jade! I'll be rooting for you! 😉

  5. I’m anti challenge. I did do the Mystery and Suspense one a few years ago and dug it.

They’re not for everybody. I have a feeling in a few years I’ll get bored and be anti-challenge as well. But for now they’re pretty fun.

  6. I hope you reach your challenge goals especially the 100 + one. I’m sure if you reach that one, you will reach the other ones. I’m doing a few more this time around as well. I tried to put more thought into it this time.

  7. Alysia says:

Wow! 100+ books. And you have knocked 10 off your list in the first month. Congrats!! This is my first year doing any reading challenges and I signed up for 5 of them. They cross over like crazy! LOL!! I am excited about all of them. But mostly the POC challenge I just signed up for yesterday.

  8. Missie says:

I bet it will be very easy for you to get 100 books read this year!

And yay for Why Buy the Cow! Free books are the best. 🙂

  9. Okay, so I have a confession: I didn’t keep track of all the books I read last year. Sadly, I have no idea how many I went through, (but it definitely wasn’t 75)! I’m so impressed with you, and good luck on this year’s reading challenge–I’m sure you’ll rock it!
