Speak Out: A Question for the Readers
Tuesday October 18, 2011 at 4:03 am |

I’ve been feeling a bit awful lately, so forgive me if my posts aren’t up to par. As I have nothing prepared for today, I did want to ask a question to all the readers out there.

If you could recommend just ONE book for others to read in this very moment, what would it be and why?

Feel free to answer in the comments. Or feel free not to…go with what you feel!

To Kill A Mockingbird. It always renews my hope in mankind.

BTW, Hello Jade! I’ve been too busy to blog but wanted to hop on and say hi.

  2. Belle says:

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephaine Perkins. Pure fun!
PS hope you’re feeling better. Your blog is great!

Thank you! I’ve seen that title around the blogospehere a lot. I’ll definitely have to consider checking it out when I want to read some YA lit.

  3. So hard. I try to taylor my suggestions. For example, I just had my mother in law read The Violets of March and she loved it.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been feeling awful, that really sucks. :/ Hope you’ll feel better soon!

That’s a real good question. Lol, I suck at the one-choice. BUT, I think I would have to say Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. Just because I miss it a lot today and because it’s such an awesome story, with wonderful characters, that I think everyone should have at least given a try once. Even old fans should go back to re-read it. I find the series getting better with each re-read. Pure love!

    One book? GAH!

Possibly, If I Stay by Gayle Forman, The Piper’s Son by Melina Marchetta, or One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. I guess it would depend on which type of book recommendations the reader is asking for. LOL

Hope you feel better soon, hun! Get some rest. 🙂

  6. ONe book right now, at this moment, right now, ghezzzzz, let me see, hmmmmmmmm, okay, ghezzzzzz, hmmmmm, okay, ELIJAH’S COIN BY STEVE O’BRIEN. Its a lesson for life book with a good story line.

Take care, I have faith that you will have batter days ahead.

This is the hardest question ever. I have several books that are favorites of mine but there’s one book that isn’t my favorite book in the world, but it’s the one I have read the most because I was obsessed with one of the characters, I mean, my friends wanted to marry Leonardo DiCaprio and other movie stars, I wanted to marry this guy… So I’m going to pick that particular book, it’s called Timeline by Michael Crichton. That book was the reason I ended up studying archaeology. If you like adventure you gotta read it and everything else by that author.

I hope you feel better soon, take care!

  8. Lena says:

I would recommend Sugar by Bernice L. McFadden. My favorite book. I have several copies and I cant part with a single one.

Hope you feel better real soon. Praying you do. But rest well, we will still be here. 🙂

  9. I’m a book blogger right? So I should be able to answer this question easily…but…ehhh… My funk is so pervasive. I would have to say The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, or Gone with the Wind. That’s not one. But hey…I’m just trying to make it 🙂

I hope you feel better. My family is going through a lot right now and I’m not online as much. I’m trying to be supportive to the hubby.

Hope you are feeling better for the read-a-thon. I’m still planning on participating and it is looking like I can. I haven’t picked snacks or books yet 🙁

  10. Hi Jade….I am so sorry to hear that you are not feeling well…. Yuckiness is just plain yucky….. My favorite thing to do — and your case your bed looks so yummy …. is curl up in that bed with a great big bowl of ice cream and your favorite pet…. Turn on the television and pretend the whole world just goes away! Let me know if that works! I am sending you a huge hug { } too!

Oh… that’s not what you asked… is it???
I would suggest The Butterfly Cabinet or A Whispered Name — I can’t seem to get those two books out of my head…. But I love the answers from above. I’m going to have to go get one or two of them as I am in search of a good book right about now!
