I’m finally up. I just knew I wasn’t making that 8 o clock call. Especially considering I usually don’t fall asleep until about 4 in the morning. Yup I’m a night owl. Anyways, I’m up now and starting my first book Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I think this is hour five I’m in?
I’m a little past 100 pages in on this book. So far so good. I’ve already read a whole bunch of discrepancies from the movie. But as they say…the books is always better! I’ve a had a little distraction in the form of my almost 2 year old nephew. But at least he’s a pleasant one. Otherwise I might be further along. How’s it going for you all?
I’m just past page 200 in Percy Jackson and it’s getting good. I’m feeling like I should be able to at least finish this book before the challenge is over. I can’t believe how the time is flying by. I have to take a quick break and try and give my mom a break from the nephew. He can certainly be a handful. But I can’t wait to pick my book back up. I left off at a good cliffhangery part!
Mini-Challenge Courtesy of Quirky Girls Read:
For this mini-challenge, take a short break and share a book trailer with us. It could be your favorite book trailer, it can be a trailer of your favorite book, or it can be a trailer for a book you want to read. The possibilities are many. To play, leave a comment with the link to your blog post featuring the trailer or a link to the trailer itself.
Okay I’ve shared this vid before on my blog. But I loved it so much I thought it’d be good to share for this mini-challenge. The following video is a fan-made trailer for The Hunger Games. They did awesome job so you guys enjoy!
So I’m about three quarters of the way through my book and things are really starting to heat up! I think I would have been almost finished had it not been for my nephew and a run to McDonalds for some fries (which were nasty after I asked for them hot), and a frozen strawberry lemonade. Whats up with McDonalds fries lately? They used to be so good, especially for a quick snack. Anywho…still trucking…just wanted to check in.
2. Go back to your blog, and give us a list of your top favorite rereads of all time. You know, those books that you can go to time and time again for comfort and escape. Again, pictures are always good but not required.
Once you’ve posted, come back here, and leave a comment with a link to your blog post. (Or, if you don’t have a blog, feel free to leave your entry in the comments.) This mini-challenge will stay open for two hours.
My re-read picks are:
The world of Harry Potter is so full of awesomeness I can’t imagine anyone NOT wanting to revisit this series time and time again. Hogwarts was like home to me and I became so close to Harry and all his friends while reading. If there were any book world I could go to, Harry would be it. I’ll be re-reading this series for the rest of my life.
And Only Hers by Francis Ray is my all time favorite romance story. I re read it at least once a year and have been since I was about 13 or 14 years old. I am now on my way to being thirty one. So this book had surely stood the test of time. I fall in love with it all over again every time I read it. If you’re looking for a good romance…please pick this one up!
HA! Finally finished Percy Jackson! Yay I’m so proud of myself. And instead of starting a fresh book this late in the game, I’m going to pick up a book I had already been reading in hopes of finishing it before the read-a-thon is over. I’ll be trying to finish Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home by Michele Bardsley before the end. So…here I go. Hope everyone is doing good!
YAY!!! I just completed another book. So that’s one and a half books for me. I guess I’ll start another one until I get sleepy. I’m thinking White Witch Pond will be my next book. Hope everyone is doing well!
I can’t believe I also finished White Witch Pond! So that’s two and a half books. Way better than I thought. I thought I’d only be able to finish one book, if that. So I’m extremely proud of myself. I hope the rest of you have had fun and got everything accomplished you wanted to. I think I’m going to pack it in now. I have to admit I’m getting tired.
