Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-A-Thon
Tuesday September 27, 2011 at 12:00 am |

WHAT: I’m participating in Dewey’s 24 hour read-a-thon in October. Thanks to encouragement from Alexis of Reflections of a Bookaholic. The 24 hour read-a-thon is a challenge to all readers whether you blog or not. The challenge of course is to read as much as possible within a 24 hour time period. This is to also include short breaks for blogging and updates (if you’re a blogger). Along the way there will be mini-challenges and chances to win prizes. So if you think you might want to challenge yourself to stay up reading for a whole day, please make sure to sign up HERE! More information and details can be found at 24hourreadathon.com

WHEN: October 22, 2011, starting at Noon GMT. Click HERE to check your time zone start time.

They are looking for people to sign up to be readers, and also volunteers for cheerleaders, soliciting prize donations, and hosts for mini-challenges. If you would like to participate in any capacity please visit 24hourreadathon.com and sign up!

  1. This sounds like a great challenge. One that I do quite often. I’m a regular 24 hour reader and I ‘ve gotten worse since i work from home 85% of the time. more nights for late night reading and time at home alone for daytime reading solo. glad you guys are gearing up to meet the challenge.

OOOh I’m jealous you work from home so much! If ou have the time you should consider joining Sidne, I think it will be fun. And hopefully it’ll help us get some of the reading we need to do out of the way and done.

  2. Jade, your awesomeness knows no bounds. I’m really really excited. I’m thinking and rethinking about the books I’m going to read and I still have weeks to go. I’m so glad that you are doing this as well. It’s going to be so fun.

    • Jade Jade says:

Thanks Alexis! I’m excited too. Every now and again I stay up 24 hours reading. So I’m curious to join my first challenge and see how well I do. If this one goes well I think I may try and participate in a volunteer capacity next time. Maybe do a mini-challenge or something. I don’t know, have to see how it goes.

  3. I really wanted to join in, but i’ll be traveling that weekend. The week prior, should be my readathon. I plan to relax and read.

    • Jade Jade says:

From my understanding there is one every fall and spring, so maybe you can join next time! Safe travels to you Mrs. Q. And have fun reading and relaxing the week prior. Hope you get some good books read.

    I love Dewey’s read-a-thon. I usually participate every Spring.

Good luck Jade. I think you’ll have fun.

  5. Oh what a fun idea! Jade, I love your blog. You always have the coolest stuff!

    Hee! 🙂

Good luck on your challenge. I have never been good with reading challenges. I haven’t completed not one that I have ever started. I suppose 24hours isn’t bad, so it seems much more feasible than the average challenge. What are you going to read during the challenge?

    • Jade Jade says:

Thanks Lena. I’m thinking I’ll read my short YA books. The Percy Jackson book I bought and Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging. Hopefully I can read through at least one and feel like I’ve accomplished something.
