The Randoms!

First and foremost there are only two days left to enter the Summer Giveaway Hop!  So make sure to check out and enter my giveaway HERE!  And when you’re done be sure to hop along to all the other blogs and enter for a chance to win their giveaways as well.

I don’t have a post planned for today so I think I’m just gonna ramble about books for a minute.  So I’ve been flying through books lately, way faster than usual.  This blog and all the reading must be training me and making me into a faster reader.  Also, I keep collecting more and more books.  Seriously, they’re never ending.  And I’ve purchased some on account of my fellow bloggers reviews and recommendations.  It’s tax free weekend here in NC this weekend so I will more than likely be purchasing a few more tomorrow as well.  So I will be posting another Rec Reads post soon, showcasing all the books I bought because of your reviews.

Speaking of fellow bloggers, I’d like to give a big hearty thanks to Brenda, Sidne, and Dee!  All of these ladies were kind enough to shout me out on their blogs or in a guest post.  Just wanted to say thank you and that your kindness has been noted and appreciated, and I will do my best to repay your kindness in the future.  I was also asked to be a sort of feature on a couple of my blogger friends’ sites soon.  I won’t name them until the day, but I’m honored to be asked, and excited to participate.  So thanks again for the blogger support everyone, it means a lot.

Now for my recent book deals.  First my mom and sister found this warehouse full of used books about 20 mins from my home.  They were all selling for .25 cent a piece….so you know I racked up right?  I got 36 books for nine bucks!  Talk about the deal of the century!  And these people have informed us they will have a sell like that once a month and they will notify us by email each weekend they do.  So I think I better figure out some more storage.  I picked up a lot of Maeve Binchy books.  I’ve never read one, but I got them because Alexis recommended her.  So I said for a quarter, I’ll surely be trying those books.   And I know I’ve probably completely murdered the spelling of that name, but at this late hour, I can’t be bothered to look up the correct spelling.

Now I’m excited because I’m finally reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.  My sister was a dear and bought me the paperback copy from Amazon and had it shipped to me.  YAY and YAY, SQUEE and alladat!  I’ve just started reading and already find myself caught up in the whole District atmosphere.

I think that’s about all I have to ramble about for now.  It’s 3AM and Clarissa Explains It All is on!  Who else used to love this show as a kid?

*Singing*  And I still won’t grow up, I’m a grown ass kid.

Happy Reading!

Wow, that’s great finding that store! I admit I’m real jealous. 😉 36 books is not bad! The best thing happening close to me book-wise is that our little book store finally got an Urban Fantasy shelf! It’s not big, but it’s a start. Found 4 books at least! I’m hoping Sweden is learning how to read other things than Thrillers only. 😉 Not that I mind, but it’s limiting!

And you have an awesome sister buying it for you! I’ll be looking forward to hear what you think. 😉 I still have to read Mockingjay. I think I’m too scared it’ll be bad after hearing what people have been saying.

Also, congratulations on your features and shout outs! 🙂

  2. $0.25? Shut the front door! WOW! I’m so jealous.

@ Bex, YAY for the UF even though it leaves much to be desired. But you have to start somewhere! And I just finished Catching Fire! LOVED IT! I just ordered Mockinjay and can’t wait to get it in my hands!

@ JuJu, YUP! I can’t wait for the next sale.

  4. Ummm… Clarissa Explain it All… Where? And if you tell me you’ve found a way to watch Are you Afraid of the Dark? I’m going to throw my shoe at you. This is how I treat friends by the way. I’m just like that.

  5. Jade says:

@ Alexis, they’re playing all the old shows on Teen Nick. Clarissa, Doug, All That, Keenan adn Kel. And OMG I used to LOVE Are You Afraid if the Dark on Snick. They so need to bring that show back. Maybe they’ll start playing that one as well.

Jade you’re such a cutey! Up at 3 am posting to your blog and watching Clarissa! I want to know more about tax free weekend in NC and I want to know more of your 36 titles. You sound like you’re having a great summer. Sorry I haven’t been around much. I’ll try to fix that this week.

  7. LOL….I am sitting here reading this and cracking up….. too funny — not only how fast you are reading and the great deals.. Oh thanks for the shout out back by the way!
Clarissa —- my kids loved that show – and why are you up at 3AM?

Ok….. you need to follow me on Facebook to get that invite to the blog tour I was talking about – I realized I responded to your comment but you probably won’t read it….

    Don’t forget….. Tuesday……..

@ Belle, Hey hon! Hey, life happens….I don’t expect everyone to be around all the time. And I know your husband and kids must keep you busy as well. Oh and they have tax free weekend here everyo year right before school starts back up. For a whole weekend things like school supplies, clothes, and computers and such up to a certain amount are all tax free. Looks like they are getting tighter with that though. My sis said she bought some things that didn’t ring up tax free, and I was sure my books would be, but they weren’t. *Sad Face*.

As for the 36 titles…I’ll have to go look at them. Maybe I’ll make a list on the blog here. But I got some Lisa Kleypass, Julie Grawood, Julia Quinn, Maeve Binchy, and some others.

@ Brenda, I’m always up at 3AM. I’m a night owl. I’m up at night and sometimes til 6 or 7 am. Then I sleep. My schedule is backwards. That’s why sometimes I don’t get around to commenting until the afternoon. Okay….I will make sure to add you on FB so I can get the invite! And can’t wait for Tuesday!
